Four individuals were found dead in a fifth-floor apartment at the Castle Hill Houses in the Bronx, New York, on November 5, 2025. Authorities are currently treating the case as a possible murder-suicide. The deceased were identified as Kaseem Stukes, 44; his mother, Theresa Stukes, 75; his daughter, Kianna Stukes, 26; and Andrew Reynoso, 33, who had familial connections.
Police responded to a wellness check request at the New York City Housing Authority property on Lacombe Avenue around 9:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered the four victims with gunshot injuries and declared them dead at the location. A firearm was retrieved from the scene.
Kaseem Stukes was found on a couch with a gun nearby, while the others were located in various parts of the apartment. Police reports indicate that the alleged shooter contacted a relative in another state before the incident, stating, “Check on your family.” A family friend discovered the bodies and notified the authorities.
Earlier in the day, one of the victims reportedly mentioned he would “see them in the next life,” implying awareness of forthcoming events. Investigators are examining video footage from the area for additional insights.
The medical examiner’s office is working to officially determine the causes of death, although police sources have indicated gunshot wounds as the cause. The deaths have been classified as homicides, with no arrests made to date.
Theresa Stukes, aged 75, had been a long-time resident of the Castle Hill Houses and was respected within the community. Neighbors described her as a “wonderful, wonderful person” who contributed positively to the building. Her family remembered her fondly. Neighbors reported no prior incidents of violence at the residence.
Kaseem Stukes, originally from the Castle Hill area, was remembered as an energetic child who enjoyed sports. Friends and neighbors were surprised by his involvement in the violence. He worked in construction and was reportedly trying to improve his circumstances, despite a charge of reckless endangerment and illegal gun possession in September 2024. Those who knew him believed he was on a positive trajectory.
Though Kaseem had a history of legal issues, his mother, Theresa, remained supportive. Neighbors and friends described the Stukes family as close-knit and expressed their sorrow over the violence.
The relationships among the victims showed Kianna Stukes, 26, as Kaseem’s daughter and Theresa’s granddaughter. Andrew Reynoso was associated with the family, with some indicating he was Kianna’s boyfriend.
The Castle Hill Houses, where the incident occurred, is a public housing complex managed by the New York City Housing Authority. Residents expressed condolences and disbelief about the event, particularly given the family’s standing in the community.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading to the violence and the motives behind the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to understand what transpired inside the apartment.
